Liam Caplis
1977 - 2006
The sad and unexpected death of Liam Caplis occurred last week, Liam was a
talented soccer player donning the Rearcross FC jersey with pride and commitment
in earlier years and had the able distinction of captaining Rearcross 'B'
to their first ever success in the North Tipperary & District League in March
1997 with victory over Puckane on a two nil score line in the final of the
Divisional Shield, where Liam truly played a captain's part scoring both Rearcross
goals in a one minute spell late in the opening half. Liam was also an accomplished
hurler having played at U14 & U16 level for West Tipperary, however Liam's
main interest was in motor sport where Liam was a member of Limerick Motor
Club and competed in various rallies throughout Munster, we tender our deepest
sympathies to Liam's family and wide circle of friends.
